Source and inspiration for these drawings came from Mike Disfarmer's Depression Era photographs of local people in Heber Springs, Arkansas in the 1930's.
Interpreted, translated to color, and incongruously married to abstracted backgrounds.
I am attracted to Disfarmer's stark black and white photography which cast intense shadow and light on his subjects. Each of these people project a unique character and life story. | |
